Comments

When you leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam detection.

Media Uploads

If you upload images, avoid files with embedded location (EXIF GPS) data. Visitors can download and extract location data from images hosted here.

Cookies

  • Comment cookies —store your name, email, and site for one year so you don’t have to re-enter details.
  • Login cookies —keep you signed in for two days (or two weeks if you choose “Remember Me”); they’re removed when you log out.
  • Screen-option cookies —save display preferences for one year.
  • Edit/post cookies —store the post ID of an article you edit and expire in 24 hours.

Articles may include videos, images, or affiliate widgets that behave as if you visited the originating site. These sites may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction—especially if you’re logged in to them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visitor behavior. Google Analytics collects anonymized information (e.g., pages visited, device type). You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

TidyDogMom.com participates in several affiliate programs (e.g., Amazon Associates). Clicking an affiliate link places a cookie on your browser to track sales for commission purposes. No additional cost is passed on to you.

Visitor comments may be checked through automated spam detection. Newsletter sign-ups are processed through our email provider’s secure servers in the United States.
